Today when we got home from visitng my Grandma there was a package on the porch…and in it was the complete, unabridged version of Narnia, all seven books! Yippee! We have listened to the first chapter of The Magician’s Nephew, read by Kenneth Branaugh. There is something wonderful about hearing the story in a British accent. It is as if I am hearing it the way Lewis intended it to be heard (as opposed to my sometimes awkward and inept reading). My delight is only equaled by my kids’ delight.
For those of you that are interested, you can listen to a sample from The Last Battle, read by Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean Luc Picard, for those of you in the know), right here: Narnia on CD
ps-this may not be a big deal to some, but this is the first time I figured out how to embed a link in my post. Woo-hoo!
Although I did tweak the spacing between paragraphs and haven’t figured out how to fix that. For another day, I guess!
