So here I am-attempting to blog. The fun part is done-registering, choosing a template, adding links. It’s the hard, daily work of updating a blog that is hard for me. However, I love the concept of blogging-an online journal, a place to reflect and respond to God working in my life.
I seem to view my “New Year” as moving from September to August. I suppose this makes sense as I have always either attended school or taught at a school (including our little in-home classical academy). Since my “New Year” is coming up, I have set three goals for myself. I am putting them in writing in hopes that they will cement into my heart and mind.
-
Take care of myself better. I am notoriously awful about taking my vitamins, going to bed very late, sucking down caffeine to wake up, and exercising. Knowing that I will be physically better prepared to take care of my little family, I am committing to caring for my body.
-
Take more time for the Lord. Mr. Handsome is gone one night a week, so I am commiting to a regular evening of study (as opposed to devotions) through the Book of Philippians.
-
Learn how to rest. The Lord has been teaching me that rest is essential for the believer. I have been under the illusion that I needed to say yes anytime I had an empty space on my calendar. I am learning that it is good for me to have that empty space.
I am off to tuck the little family in for the night!
Nancy
